On Tuesday, Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, expressed condolences to the family of the 49th Ooni of Ife, Oba Adesoji Aderemi, following the passing of the last surviving widow of the monarch, Olori Dorcas Aderemi.
In a statement conveyed by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke lamented the loss of Olori Aderemi, emphasizing her significant role and the profound impact of her life.
Acknowledging her dedicated service, the governor highlighted Olori Aderemi’s commitment to tradition and the royal household.
He particularly praised her blend of tradition with a strong Christian faith, evident during her tenure at the Iyaale Aku Royal House since 2019.

Adeleke also underscored the continued involvement of the deceased in St. Peter’s Anglican Church, emphasizing her efforts to honor the legacy of her late husband, who played a pivotal role in establishing the church.
Olori Dorcas Aderemi, who passed away at the age of 105, was the last surviving wife of the late Ooni Aderemi, the first Governor of the Western Region.
Governor Adeleke extended his condolences to Arole Oduduwa, HRM Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi Enitan, Ojaja I, the Ile-Ife traditional council, the Olori Obas, the immediate family, and the people of Ile-Ife.
