2026 Police Recruitment: Written Exams Set for April 28; PSC Issues Fraud Alert

​AKURE – The Police Service Commission (PSC), in a joint effort with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has officially scheduled the written examination for constable applicants to take place between April 28 and April 30, 2026.

​The nationwide exercise targets candidates seeking enlistment into both the General Duty and Specialist cadres of the Force. In Ondo State, the Command has designated the Police Secondary School, Iju, Itaogbolu, as the sole examination center for the three-day exercise.

​Eligibility and Documentation

​Participation is strictly limited to candidates who successfully cleared the initial physical and credentials screening stages. As of Friday, April 24, the recruitment portal (www.npfapplication.psc.gov.ng) has been opened for qualified applicants to download and print their Examination Invitation Cards.

​The Ondo State Police Command, led by Commissioner of Police Adebowale Lawal, psc(+), mnips, has emphasized that the invitation card is mandatory as it contains specific individual schedules, including the date and time for each candidate.

​Mandatory Requirements

​Candidates arriving at the venue are expected to present the following items:

• ​A functional pen.
• ​The original National Identification Number (NIN) slip with a visible photograph.
• ​A printed copy of the Examination Invitation Card.
• ​Dress Code: Strict adherence to the prescribed uniform of white shorts, a plain white T-shirt, and white canvas shoes.

​Zero-Tolerance for Extortion

​In a stern warning to the public, the PSC and the Ondo State Command reiterated that the recruitment process remains entirely free of charge.

​”Any form of job racketeering, fraudulent promises, or financial inducement will be met with the full weight of the law,” stated DSP Abayomi Jimoh, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Ondo State Command.

​Applicants are urged to report to the Iju-Itaogbolu venue early and to ignore any third-party “facilitators” claiming to influence the selection process.
