ValidViewNetwork can confirm that the White House has launched a 24-hour streaming channel branded Trump TV, creating a direct digital platform through which viewers can access announcements, past presidential moments and other content from Donald Trump’s administration.
The White House announced the service on Monday, describing it as a continuously updated stream.
The development marks another stage in the changing relationship between political power and the media.
Traditional political communication has generally depended on press briefings, television interviews, news conferences and coverage by independent broadcasters.
Streaming technology changes that arrangement. A government can now distribute its own footage directly to viewers without waiting for an external broadcaster to select, edit or schedule the material.
