FG Announces Public Holidays for Eid-el-Fitr Celebrations

Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria – The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially declared Monday, March 31st, and Tuesday, April 1st, 2025, as public holidays to mark the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr. This announcement allows citizens to partake in the festivities celebrating the end of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting for Muslims.

The declaration was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, representing the Federal Government. The official statement was released through the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani.

In the statement, Dr. Tunji-Ojo conveyed his heartfelt greetings to the Muslim community, congratulating them on the successful completion of Ramadan. He also emphasized the importance of upholding the values learned during the holy month, including self-discipline, compassion, generosity, and the pursuit of peace.
