This operation forms part of intensified efforts amid surging kidnappings in areas like Patigi, Moro, Asa, and Ifelodun local government areas, where criminals exploit forest routes. The command also recently rescued a kidnapped woman, Aisata, from Obate-Eyenkorin forest after bandits fled during a raid, and arrested Aliu Abubakar with digital evidence of AK-47 possession tied to kidnapping proceeds. Such incidents highlight ongoing vulnerabilities along interstate borders.
