Manager Deletes Papaya Ex’s 2.7m-View Movie After 30-Day Fast – Star in Tears

Nigerian content creator, actress and producer Abike Rakeem, popularly known as Papaya Ex, has been left shattered after her highly successful YouTube film Spotlight vanished from her channel, allegedly at the hands of the person managing the account.

In an emotional video that has since gone viral, the visibly distraught star broke down in tears as she described the loss of a project that had racked up 2.7 million views and more than 10,000 comments. “All my hard work is gone.

This guy has ruined me,” she said, her voice cracking. “My YouTube manager deleted my Spotlight movie with 2.7 million views and 10k comments. I fasted for 30 days for this project.”
Papaya Ex, whose real name is Abike Rakeem, revealed that the ordeal has left her mental health in freefall. She said she no longer knows what to do next and simply wants to “disappear.”

The filmmaker insisted the deletion was no accident. She pointed out that the manager would have had to scroll past other videos, trailers and teasers before reaching Spotlight, yet that specific film was the one removed.

This is not the first time such an incident has occurred. Papaya Ex alleged that the same manager previously deleted her earlier project Night Market after she had only asked for it to be made private. “This is the second time he’s doing this… This was deliberate,” she declared, adding that she cannot forgive him this time.

Spotlight had been a major milestone for the influencer-turned-filmmaker, who has been steadily building a presence in Nollywood-style YouTube cinema through her channel PAPAYAEXTV. Fans had celebrated its rapid rise in views, with the star herself posting updates as it crossed the two-million and then 2.5-million mark earlier this month. She had already been teasing a follow-up project while still fasting in preparation for new work.

Supporters have flooded social media with messages of solidarity and prayers for the star, many expressing shock that months of effort, spiritual sacrifice and audience goodwill could be wiped out in an instant. The video of her tearful outburst continues to trend, turning a private professional crisis into a public talking point across entertainment circles.

As of Monday, no public response had been issued by the manager involved, and it remains unclear whether the film can be restored or if legal or platform avenues will be pursued.
