The Ogun State Government has expressed sympathy for the victims affected by a recent rainstorm in Sango, Ado Odo/Ota Local Government Area, and is coordinating with the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) to promptly address the damages caused.
In a statement by the Special Adviser on Media, Hon. Kayode Akinmade, the government confirmed that a team was dispatched to assess the damage firsthand and engage with the IBEDC for immediate action.
Akinmade stated, “Our team conducted a physical inspection of the affected areas on Monday to assess the damage and collaborate with the IBEDC team. We have been working closely with the IBEDC Regional Manager and Technical Head for the Ogun Region to restore power in the affected areas.”
He further mentioned that some less affected feeders have been restored and energized, with cleanup efforts underway in the worst-hit areas.

Additionally, most of the damaged poles have been removed, and full restoration of power in Sango Ota is expected by the end of the week.
The government expressed condolences to those whose properties were affected by the fallen poles and urged residents to remain calm.
The areas affected by the rainstorm include Iyana Iyesi, Osuke Town, Egan Road, Iyana Ilogbo, Ijaba, Ijagba, Itele, Lafenwa, Singer, Joju, Alishiba, Oju Ore, Tollgate, Eledi, Akeja, Abebi, Osi Round About, Ota Town, Ota Industrial Estate, Igberen, Iju, Atan, Onipanu, Obasanjo, Lusada, Arigba, Odugbe, Ado-Odo, Igbesa, Owode, Olokuta, Hanushi, Bamtish Camp Lufiwape, Eltees Farm, August Engineering, Spark Clean Soap Ayetoro, Amazing Grace Oil, Christopher University, and Royal Garden Estate.
