Ogun at 50: ADP Chieftain Sokunbi Salutes Past Governors, Unveils Prosperity Agenda

Urges residents to embrace unity, inclusive governance

An Action Democratic Party (ADP) chieftain, Hon. Olanrewaju Sokunbi, popularly known as KASH, has congratulated the people of Ogun State on the occasion of the state’s 50th anniversary of creation.

Sokunbi, in a goodwill message made available to journalists on Monday, described the golden jubilee celebration as a landmark achievement in the history of the Gateway State.

He said the anniversary reflects the rich heritage, resilience and determination of Ogun indigenes over the past five decades, noting that it provides an opportunity for citizens to reflect on the state’s journey, achievements and prospects for the future.

The ADP stalwart extended his greetings to residents across the 20 local government areas, urging them to sustain unity and collective progress.

He also commended the contributions of successive administrations to the growth and development of the state, specifically praising former governors Olabisi Onabanjo, Olusegun Osoba, Gbenga Daniel, Ibikunle Amosun and the incumbent Governor Dapo Abiodun.

According to him, their tenures were marked by visionary leadership that helped shape Ogun State into one of Nigeria’s leading industrial and educational centres.

“This momentous occasion is a testament to our rich heritage and the resilience of our people,” Sokunbi stated.

He added that the efforts of past leaders have laid strong foundations upon which future administrations can build for greater progress.

The politician urged residents to use the celebration as a springboard for envisioning a brighter and more prosperous Ogun State, stressing that the next phase of development must focus on expanding opportunities for all citizens, particularly youths and entrepreneurs.

Sokunbi also used the occasion to reaffirm his party’s commitment to transforming the state if given the necessary public support.

He said the Action Democratic Party is determined to reposition Ogun as a beacon of development that will attract visitors, investors and tourists from across the country and beyond.

“Ogun State has the potential to become a model of economic growth, innovation and sustainable prosperity in Nigeria,” he said.

He called on residents to rally behind the ADP’s vision of inclusive governance and people-oriented development, maintaining that with the right leadership and citizen participation, the state can achieve greater heights in infrastructure, education, healthcare and job creation.

“Together, let us strive to make Ogun State an exemplary model of growth and opportunity for all,” Sokunbi added.

He concluded by wishing Ogun State continued stability and prosperity as it enters a new chapter in its development journey.
