ABEOKUTA — The landscape of educational technology in Ogun State received a monumental boost on Tuesday with the official commissioning of a multi-million-naira computer-based test facility at the Christ Nation Group of Schools, located in Moloko Asipa along the Iyana-Obafe Road.
Estimated to value over N500 million, the newly unveiled state-of-the-art centre boasts an impressive inventory of 300 modern computer systems, robust networking infrastructure, and fail-safe power installations designed to meet rigorous national examination standards.
The inauguration ceremony drew top-tier stakeholders from the education sector, state government functionaries, and examination regulatory bodies, underscoring the strategic importance of the private sector-led digital initiative.
Inside the Ultra-Modern Facility
Spanning a gross floor area of approximately 7,800 square feet within a 65-by-120-foot complex, the project reflects meticulous planning and heavy capital investment. According to the Project Director, Mr. Bello Nofiu, construction works kicked off in September 2025 and rapidly progressed through structural completion, local area network (LAN) cabling, and equipment integration.
To guarantee zero downtime during high-stakes examinations, the facility has been equipped with:
- 300 Integrated Workstations: Fully configured computer systems ready for large-scale simultaneous testing.
- Industrial Power Backup: A heavy-duty 100kVA generator paired with high-capacity inverters and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) units.
- Enhanced Security Systems: Comprehensive closed-circuit television (CCTV) surveillance networks covering the entire testing environment.
- Centralized Server Infrastructure: Dedicated server configuration supporting high-speed local data transfer and connectivity.
Government and Regulatory Endorsement
Representing the Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Abayomi Arigbabu, the Director of Private Schools, Mr. Akeem Bisiriyu, commissioned the facility. He noted that the project is a testament to the efficacy of public-private synergy in driving the state’s educational transformation agenda.
While praising the management for the bold venture, Bisiriyu charged the institution to prioritize routine facility maintenance and physical security. He further challenged educators across the state to scale up their digital proficiency to match evolving global pedagogical trends.
Echoing similar sentiments, the Ogun State Coordinator of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Mrs. Folashade Agbonifo, certified that the centre successfully satisfies all technical benchmarks required for conducting standardized computer-based examinations.
Highlighting the psychological and logistical advantages for candidates, Agbonifo remarked that bringing such advanced testing infrastructure closer to grassroots communities drastically minimizes examination anxiety and travel fatigue.
“For any of our candidates to be writing examinations here, you can see that there won’t be any issue… With facilities like this in their school, they can come around, become familiar with the keyboard and mouse, and build their confidence before examination day,” Agbonifo stated.
Preparing Students for a Digital Future
The Director of Christ Nation Group of Schools, Chibuzo Wigwe, emphasized that the global economy is increasingly anchored on digital literacy, making early technological integration non-negotiable for modern students.
Tracing the motivation behind the massive investment, the proprietress, Dr. Modupe Wigwe—leveraging her professional background as an ICT instructor—noted that the facility is engineered to cater to candidates preparing for major examinations administered by JAMB, the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), and the National Examinations Council (NECO).

Beyond serving students, the project is projected to catalyze local economic activity, creating sustainable business opportunities for residents within the Moloko Asipa host community. Concluding her remarks, Dr. Wigwe called on government authorities to extend supportive policies and collaborative frameworks to private investors blazing the trail in Nigeria’s educational technology space.
