The Director of the Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa has hinted that the carelessness of one of the shop owners at the Oja-tuntun market in the Baboko area of Ilorin, Kwara State led to the fire incident which destroyed goods worth millions of naira.
The inferno which started on Thursday night destroyed six out of 1,070 lockup shops in the market.
The spokesperson of Kwara Fire Service, Hassan Adekunle affirmed that the bravery and timeliness of the firemen helped to douse the flame in good time and for the fire not to escalate to other shops.
Meanwhile in his felicitation message to Muslims and Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora on the occasion of the Eid-el-Fitri celebration , the Director of the Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, charged people to be safety conscious during the celebration, “especially with their cooking materials while preparing their food”.
