The Edo State Government has officially denied rumors that it has dissolved the state executive council and relieved political appointees of their duties.
This clarification was made by the Secretary to the State Government, Osarodion Ogie, in a statement on Tuesday.
Ogie described the news circulating on social media as false and the work of mischief makers aiming to cause panic and confusion.
He stated, “The Edo State Government debunks the fake news making the rounds on social media alleging that the State Executive Council (EXCO) and appointees have been dissolved.”

Ogie further urged all appointees, including Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, and Special Assistants, to continue with their duties and responsibilities without paying attention to the fabricated news.
The government stressed that these rumors were spread by those with selfish agendas aiming to disrupt the state’s operations.
