Former APC Women Leader Killed at Home, Security Agencies Challenged

Former All Progressives Congress Zonal Women Leader in Bauchi South, Jamima J. Dutse, has been killed by unknown assailants at her residence in Bauchi State.

The circumstances surrounding the killing, including the motive and identity of the attackers, were not immediately established.

The Take-It-Back Movement’s Bauchi State chapter has condemned the killing and called for an urgent investigation.

TIB demands high-powered investigationIn a statement signed by its Bauchi State Coordinator, Nazif Bashi, the group described the killing as a disturbing development and expressed condolences to Dutse’s family, friends and associates.

The movement called on the Bauchi State Police Command, the Department of State Services and other relevant agencies to identify, arrest and prosecute those responsible.

It also demanded what it described as a dedicated, high-powered investigative panel to establish how the attackers gained access to the residence and determine the motive behind the killing.

ValidViewNetwork reports, the political affiliation of the victim should not obscure the central issue, the killing of a Nigerian citizen inside her home and the need for an impartial investigation.

There is currently no verified evidence establishing that Dutse was killed because of her political affiliation. The identity of the attackers and their motive remain matters for investigation.

TIB has also urged security agencies to maintain communication with the family and provide updates on the investigation. The group argued that residents must be able to feel safe in their homes regardless of political affiliation or social status.
