The Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja issued a ruling on Thursday, prohibiting the former Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, his daughter Fatimah, and son-in-law Jalal Hamma from traveling abroad until the conclusion of their N2.7 billion fraud trial.
Justice Sylvanus Orji delivered the ruling following their arraignment by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on six counts of alleged fraud.
The charges brought against Sirika include abusing his office by awarding a N1.3 billion consultancy contract for the Nigerian Air Start-up to Tianero Nigeria Limited, contravening Section 19 of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000.

Additionally, he is accused of influencing the award of a N1.498 billion contract for the Apron Extension at Katsina Airport to Al Buraq Global Investment Limited, a company associated with his daughter and son-in-law.
Despite pleading not guilty to the charges, the defendants were granted bail by the court. Each defendant was required to provide N100 million in bail and two sureties of equal sum, one of whom must possess a landed property within the Federal Capital Territory.
Furthermore, the court ordered that they remain within the country and imposed the condition that failure to meet the bail requirements would result in their remand in a correctional facility.
The trial has been scheduled to commence on June 10, 11, and 20.
