APC South-West Vice Chairman declares for Ondo South Senate seat

The National Vice Chairman (South-West) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Isaacs Kekemeke, has formally declared his intention to contest the Ondo South Senatorial seat, pledging people-centred and responsible representation if elected.

Kekemeke said his decision followed sustained pressure from party leaders, women and youth groups across the district, describing the calls as “overwhelming” and difficult to ignore after months of consultations.

“The more I tried to ignore the calls, the louder they became,” he said, noting that supporters expressed confidence in his competence and integrity to deliver effective representation.

The APC chieftain, who currently serves as the party’s South-West Zonal Chairman, highlighted his political experience, including roles as Minority Leader in the old Ondo State House of Assembly, Secretary to the State Government, Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, as well as Commissioner for Works, Lands and Housing.

He also recalled his tenure as APC State Chairman, where he contributed to strengthening the party’s structure in the state.

Kekemeke said his ambition is anchored on building an inclusive platform that reflects the diverse interests of Ondo South and ensures responsive governance at the federal level.

“After due consultation with the Governor of the state who is the leader of the party and other leaders, I have decided to take up the gauntlet,” he stated.
“I shall seek the ticket of our great party for the senatorial election and, when I win, give to the district fair, fearless, quality and needs-driven representation.”

He further pledged to prioritise the welfare of his constituents if elected.

“I shall be a strong voice for Ondo South, Ondo State, its government and its people, and I will do so with humility and a high sense of duty and responsibility. My watchword shall be: the people first.”

Calling for support, Kekemeke assured constituents of visible and impactful representation in Abuja.

“I am ready to serve again, if our people will send me,” he added.
