Alhaji Abba Abubakar, the son of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, has unveiled an ambitious 2027 mobilisation plan for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu, including a proposed two-million-man march across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.
The mobilisation plan was announced on Friday at the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Secretariat in Abuja, where Abba, the founder and chairman of the Haske Bola Tinubu Organisation, presented his strategy to the party, ValidViewNetwork reports.
THE PLAN
“Looking ahead, HBTO is preparing for an ambitious nationwide political mobilisation programme,” Abba said. “As part of this strategy, we intend to commence a two-million-man mobilisation march across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, beginning from Abuja”.
He said the organisation’s immediate focus would be on supporting the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, whom he described as a key political leader in the mobilisation structure.
“We are also working in alignment with the FCT minister’s political objective of delivering both the FCT and Rivers for President Tinubu in the forthcoming election,” he said.
He added that the organisation was preparing for a major political mobilisation in Rivers State in the first week of November .
THE TRANSPORT INITIATIVE
Abba also announced that HBTO would introduce a transportation support programme, beginning with the provision of ten luxury buses, to ease commuting challenges for ordinary Nigerians.
“We intend to commence this programme in the FCT before progressively expanding the initiative to other parts of the federation,” he said. “For us, supporting the president’s Renewed Hope Agenda must translate into meaningful actions that positively affect the everyday lives of Nigerians”.
THE POLITICAL CHOICE
Abba acknowledged that his decision to support Tinubu was a matter of personal conviction, and that his father, a prominent opposition figure, was free to hold a different view.
“I hold no reservations about the right of others to their differing political opinions, just as I expect my own convictions to be respected,” he said.
“Our democracy is strengthened when individuals are free to make independent political choices, engage in constructive dialogue and support the leadership and political platforms they believe best represent their aspirations”.
He said he had no regrets about his choice. He explained that his organisation was established to bring together Nigerians who shared a common belief in Tinubu’s leadership and the APC-led administration’s reform agenda.
WHY IT MATTERS
The spectacle of Atiku Abubakar’s son campaigning for the man his father is trying to unseat is a remarkable political story. It speaks to the complexity of Nigerian politics, where family ties do not always translate into political loyalty.
It also speaks to the appeal of incumbency—the ability of a sitting President to attract support from unexpected quarters.
For Tinubu, Abba’s support is a symbolic victory. It suggests that the President’s reach extends beyond his party’s traditional base.

For Atiku, it is an awkward reminder that not everyone in his family shares his political convictions.
The two-million-man march may or may not materialise. But the message is clear: in the battle for 2027, even family loyalties are up for negotiation. ValidViewNetwork reports.
