The family of Olayinka Oremade, a businesswoman abducted alongside her staff member in the Alapako/Oyebola area of Ogun State, has made a passionate appeal to the Nigeria Police Force and the state government to intensify rescue operations.
The incident occurred on Friday, August 14, 2026, when gunmen ambushed their vehicle as they returned from a farm where the victim had gone to create business content. According to her son, Oremade Ilerioluwa, four armed men blocked the front of the car, and three others emerged from the rear as she attempted to reverse, shooting out the back tyres.
While two staff members managed to escape into the bush, Mrs. Oremade and another employee were captured. The abductors initially contacted the family demanding a N200m ransom, which was later reduced to N100m after negotiations.
The family stated they are completely unable to raise the exorbitant sum. Relatives have described the profound emotional toll the ordeal has taken on them, noting that local hunters and security outfits have combed the area without success.
Efforts to get comments from the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Babaseyi Oluseyi, were unsuccessful as multiple calls and messages went unanswered at the time of filing this report.
