Popular Nigerian dancer and entertainer, Iweh Odinaka, widely known as Poco Lee, is currently being held on remand in a United Kingdom correctional facility following allegations of assault.
The development was officially corroborated by Benjamin Kuti, the founder of the Community of Nigerians in the UK—popularly known as the Oluomo of Derby. According to statements released via his social media handles, Kuti confirmed that the entertainer is locked in detention and is scheduled to face a plea hearing at the Snaresbrook Crown Court in London during the second week of September.
Speculation and initial reports regarding the dancer’s sudden legal woes first surfaced across various social media platforms on August 19, throwing fans and followers into a state of anxiety. Until now, concrete details surrounding the alleged incident have remained sparse.
Speaking on his plans for the upcoming court date, Kuti stated that he intends to be present at the judicial proceedings to extend necessary advocacy and support.
”I will also be attending the court proceedings as part of my support for the Nigerian community in the UK, to ensure that our fellow Nigerian receives the appropriate support during this difficult period of his life,” Kuti reported via Vanguard News. “It is important that we allow the legal process to take its course. Everyone is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.”
