APC Unveils Mighty 2027 Campaign Council: Yari Named DG, Uzodimma as Secretary

​The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially rolled out its high-powered national campaign structure ahead of the January 2027 general elections. Released on Saturday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the comprehensive lineup positions heavy-hitting political figures at the helm to drive President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.

​Core Leadership Structure

​At the apex of the newly constituted Presidential Campaign Council, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will serve as Chairman, with Vice President Kashim Shettima taking up the role of Vice Chairman. They are joined by the APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, who also serves as Vice Chairman.

​Strategic execution of the party’s campaign machinery falls to former Zamfara State Governor Senator Abdulaziz Yari, who has been appointed Director-General. Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma will coordinate the council as Secretary, supported by APC National Secretary Senator Ajibola Bashiru as Deputy Secretary and Hadiza Bala-Usman as Assistant Secretary.

Meanwhile, Muiz Adeyemi Banire anchors the legal directorate alongside notable legal minds including Dr Liman Hassan, Babatunde Ogala, and Prince Lateef Fagbemi.

​Media and Strategic Communication

​The media and strategic communication arm features Minister of Information and National Orientation Mohammed Idris Malagi as Coordinating Director. He is backed by veteran communications strategists Dele Alake, Bayo Onanuga, and Lanre Issa-Onilu. Dele Alake also leads the roster of official campaign spokespersons, which includes Alwan Hassan, Ayobami Oyalowo, Kemi Asekun-Shittu, and Adamu Fanda.
