​LAGOS, Nigeria — The public breakdown of the marriage between media personalities Robert “Roby” Ekpo and Mayowa Lambe has escalated into a high-stakes legal battle. On-Air Personality Mayowa Lambe has issued a cease-and-desist notice to her estranged husband, demanding a public retraction and ₦100 million in damages following a series of explosive allegations made on a popular podcast.

​The legal notice, dated April 22 and spearheaded by the legal department of Aunt Landa’s Bethel Foundation, comes after Ekpo’s appearance on The Honest Bunch. During the episode, a visibly emotional Ekpo alleged a decade of deception, claiming Lambe secretly used contraceptives while he underwent fertility tests and eventually entered into a new marriage in Texas without a formal divorce.

​Ekpo’s narrative painted a picture of a husband left in the dark. He claimed that after 11 years of marriage, he discovered via Instagram that Lambe had remarried. Among his most viral claims was that Lambe traveled to Miami for a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgery while telling him the procedure was intended to aid conception.

​”I am 48 years old, I don’t have a kid… I later found out she was taking contraceptives,” Ekpo stated, further alleging that Lambe shared a residence with a male flatmate abroad with whom she was allegedly intimate.

​Mayowa Lambe’s legal team, led by K. Umoh Esq., has hit back with a stinging rebuttal, characterizing Ekpo’s claims as a “deliberate and sustained campaign of falsehood” designed to harvest public sympathy at the expense of her reputation.

​Significantly, the notice asserts that their traditional marriage was “mutually terminated with the full knowledge and consent of both families” prior to May 2025. The defense claims to possess verifiable evidence that contradicts Ekpo’s version of events, including:
