ATLANTA, GA – United States federal authorities have launched an intensive manhunt for Emuobosan Emanuella Hall, a 45-year-old Nigerian national and permanent U.S. resident, after she staged a high-stakes disappearance just hours before she was due to begin an eight-year prison sentence.

Hall, who was convicted for her role in a massive transnational romance fraud and money laundering syndicate, failed to surrender to the Federal Bureau of Prisons on March 25, 2026, as ordered by a federal court.

The Airport Escape

According to investigators, Hall’s last known location was Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on March 24. She had informed her probation officer that she was flying to Minnesota to report to her designated correctional facility.

However, court records reveal a calculated escape:

  • The Blackout: Her court-ordered electronic monitoring device stopped transmitting at the airport.
  • The Divergence: While she claimed to be Minnesota-bound, airline manifests show she never boarded that flight.
  • The Trail: Digital forensics and phone records suggest she may have instead travelled to Dulles International Airport near Washington, D.C., a major hub for international departures.

A Trail of Broken Hearts and Bank Accounts

Hall’s conviction in January 2026 followed a guilty plea to conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, and conspiracy to commit money laundering. Working alongside co-conspirator Kenneth G. Akpieyi, Hall targeted vulnerable, often elderly women across the United States.

The duo employed the classic “Silver Fox” tactic, posing as high-ranking military generals, wealthy philanthropists, or international entrepreneurs on Facebook and Instagram. Once a romantic bond was established, they moved the victims to encrypted apps like WhatsApp to solicit funds for fabricated “emergencies” and “charity projects.”

”This wasn’t just a theft of money; it was a theft of trust and dignity,” stated U.S. Attorney David I. Courcelle. “Hall played a central role in laundering the proceeds of these emotional tragedies.”

The Financial Fallout

While Akpieyi was linked to losses exceeding $3.5 million and is currently serving 25 years, Hall admitted to personal responsibility for defrauding victims of $851,207. She utilized a front company, Le Beau Monde LLC, to move the illicit funds through the American financial system.

New Charges Looming

The FBI is now appealing to the public for information regarding Hall’s whereabouts. Authorities warn that by absconding, she has significantly worsened her legal standing.

If captured and convicted for “failure to surrender,” Hall faces:

  1. An additional 10 years in prison, to be served consecutively to her original 8-year sentence.
  2. A further fine of up to $250,000.
  3. Immediate revocation of her permanent residency status upon completion of her sentence, leading to certain deportation.

The FBI has cautioned that anyone aiding or abetting Hall’s flight from justice will also face federal prosecution
