IRAN has vowed to ignite a “surprise” second front in the Red Sea, threatening to choke the world’s most vital shipping lanes if Donald Trump greenlights a ground invasion.
As US paratroopers mass for a potential assault on the strategic oil hub of Kharg Island, Tehran’s military top brass warned they are ready to expand the war far beyond the Persian Gulf. An official state broadcast confirmed that any “boots on the ground” would trigger immediate strikes against commercial vessels and tankers heading for the Suez Canal.
‘Unprecedented’ Retaliation
The threat, issued via the Tasnim news agency, signals a desperate bid by the regime to use the global economy as a shield. “If the enemy seeks to impose costs on Iran through naval maneuvers… we will open other fronts as a ‘surprise’,” a senior military official warned.
Experts believe this “surprise” refers to:
1.Swarm attacks using high-speed explosive boats in the Bab al-Mandeb Strait.
2.Mass mining of the Red Sea to paralyze global trade.
3.Long-range drone strikes launched from hidden coastal sites.
Operation Epic Fury Escalates
The warning comes as Operation Epic Fury enters its fourth week. While the US Department of War reports that over 130 Iranian naval vessels have already been sunk or disabled, the regime’s “Mosaic Defense”—a network of mobile shore-to-sea missiles—remains a lethal threat to the US fleet.
With 7,000 “invasion specialists” now positioned in the region, the White House has remained silent on the Red Sea threat. However, a US aide earlier described the administration’s stance as a “hand open for a deal and a fist waiting to punch.”
