
IGP Egbetokun has officially appointed Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Oluseyi Babaseyi as the new Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for Ogun State Police Command, replacing CSP Omolola Odutola who has been redeployed to Lagos on an undisclosed assignment. DSP Babaseyi recently completed his call to the Nigerian Bar and is recognized as a communications expert with extensive operational and administrative experience in law enforcement .
DSP Babaseyi holds an LL.B. in Law from the Nigeria Police Academy in Wudil, Kano, a Barrister-at-Law qualification from the Nigerian Law School in Lagos, and a Diploma in Law from Osun State University. A distinguished member of the Nigeria Police Academy’s 1st Regular Course, he has comprehensive expertise in investigations, operations, police administration, and public relations .
His law enforcement career includes roles such as Divisional Crime Officer at Monatan and Kajorepo Divisions and Officer-in-Charge at Ilaji and Lagelu Police Posts in Oyo State. He also served as Unit Commander with the Police Mobile Force (22 PMF) and underwent specialist training at the Nigeria Army School of Special Forces. Notably, he led joint military-police operations under Operation Hadin Kai in northeast Nigeria .
In administrative capacities, DSP Babaseyi was Deputy Public Relations Officer in Lagos State Police Command and Secretary to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, demonstrating strong capabilities in strategic communication and command coordination. His appointment as Ogun State Police PPRO is regarded as an asset to enhancing media relations and public information management in the state .
