
The Nigeria Police Council on Monday officially ratified the appointment of Olatunji Rilwan Disu as the new Inspector-General of Police (IG). The unanimous decision, reached during a high-profile meeting at the State House, clears the path for his formal swearing-in by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu this Wednesday.
The ceremony is slated to take place during the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting. Disu’s elevation follows the resignation of the former police chief, Kayode Egbetokun, marking a strategic shift in the nation’s security leadership.
