Lagos State Health District III has warmly commended the humanitarian health initiative spearheaded by His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdul Lateef Kolawole Lawal, the Olúmẹgbọ́n of Ajah and Okun-Ajah Kingdom, as part of his inaugural coronation anniversary celebrations. The Permanent Secretary, Dr. Monsurat Adeleke, highlighted the outreach’s role in delivering vital medical consultations, screenings, health education, and preventive care to Ajah residents and surrounding areas.

Outreach Highlights
The program targeted vulnerable groups with free services aimed at early detection of prevalent conditions and bolstering community well-being. Queen Taofeekat Oluwa-Olumegbon personally distributed gifts and support items to pregnant women, nursing mothers, and children at the Maternal and Child Centre (MCC) in Eti-Osa. Her hospital visit included direct engagement, offering encouragement that provided emotional relief to patients and families.

Dr. Adeleke noted that this royal effort aligns seamlessly with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES Plus Agenda, emphasizing Health & Environment and Social Inclusion pillars. It complements state initiatives by enhancing maternal and child health services while fostering trust in public health systems through traditional leadership partnerships.
Broader Impact
Such collaborations underscore the vital role of traditional rulers in grassroots healthcare, mirroring ongoing district efforts to engage community leaders for equitable service delivery. Dr. Adeleke reaffirmed Health District III’s pledge to deepen these ties, ensuring compassionate care reaches every family in Lagos. This anniversary event builds on Ajah’s history of community-driven health support, reinforcing local access amid calls for expanded facilities.
