A recent documentary has falsely accused a Nigerian doctor of selling fake jobs to immigrants. The central claim, made by Praise Onwuachu, alleged that he was linked to an employer but found no job upon arrival. However, evidence from a London employment tribunal reveals that Onwuachu was indeed offered shifts by Efficiency for Care. He declined these shifts due to logistical issues and later sought employment elsewhere.
The BBC’s decision to focus on this narrative while ignoring a Ghanaian individual involved in actual scams raises questions about their motives. The documentary omitted crucial context, potentially to pursue a biased agenda. This approach undermines the good work of organizations like CareerEdu, which provide legitimate opportunities for young Nigerians.
The truth will ultimately vindicate those who have been unfairly maligned.
