Katsina — In a strong political push ahead of the 2027 general elections, Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has called on the residents of Musawa Local Government Area to demonstrate political gratitude by delivering massive votes for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Governor Radda made the appeal on Friday during a high-profile Tinubu-Dikko 2027 campaign rally hosted in Musawa, emphasizing that the community owes its current elevated standing at the national level to the deliberate recognition extended by the current federal administration.
Pointing to key federal appointments handed to indigenes of the area, Radda argued that the constituency has every reason to stand firmly behind President Tinubu at the polls.
“President Tinubu has extended incredible recognition to Musawa. He has given this community a minister and provided opportunities for several of its indigenes to serve in important positions. He appointed the minister, Hannatu Musa Musawa, and Muntaqa Jikamshi, among others, as beneficiaries of federal appointments,” the governor stated.
Infrastructure Commitments and Empowerment Drive
Moving beyond political mobilization, Governor Radda used the platform to address pressing infrastructural needs within the locality. He assured residents that active rehabilitation work on the damaged local dam and the stalled Musawa water project will officially commence the following week, bringing much-needed relief to the community.
The rally also doubled as a major socioeconomic empowerment event facilitated by the lawmaker representing Musawa/Matazu Federal Constituency, Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu Ahmed, popularly known as Dujiman Katsina.
Key highlights of the empowerment scheme included:
- Mobility Support: The immediate distribution of 200 motorcycles to beneficiaries, with a pledge from Hon. Ahmed to roll out an additional 1,000 motorcycles across Musawa and Matazu.
- Financial Grants: Cash disbursements of ₦50,000 each extended to 1,050 women and over 800 students from the constituency.
- Humanitarian Aid: An announcement that targeted relief materials would be distributed to internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Matazu.
In his remarks, Hon. Ahmed reaffirmed the unwavering loyalty and support of his constituents toward Governor Radda’s administration and President Tinubu’s national agenda.
Calls for Party Cohesion and Statewide Engagement
The political gathering drew heavyweights from across the state’s political architecture. The Director-General of the Tinubu-Dikko 2027 Campaign Council and former Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, commended the electorate for their patience and impressive turnout. He noted that the rally forms a critical component of the council’s comprehensive grassroots engagement strategy spanning all 34 local government areas of Katsina State.
Meanwhile, the State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bishir Gambo Saulawa, charged party faithful to remain united. He lauded local political leaders and stakeholders for successfully resolving internal grievances through consensus, urging members to maintain this spirit of cooperation as political momentum builds toward 2027.
