Cristiano Ronaldo is firmly on the cusp of football immortality, moving to 985 official career goals after delivering a vintage second-half hat-trick to power Al-Nassr to a pulsating 5-3 victory over Al-Kholood at Al-Awwal Park.
The 41-year-old Portugal icon once again underlined his remarkable longevity, turning a tense encounter on its head with a devastating 15-minute scoring burst. After a first half that saw Al-Nassr trade blows with the visitors—and two Ronaldo efforts chalked off for offside—the veteran forward took over after the break.
Ronaldo struck in the 66th, 72nd, and 81st minutes, displaying his trademark movement and clinical finishing to secure the match ball and all three points. Teammates João Félix and Sadio Mané played pivotal roles in orchestrating the second-half onslaught, setting up the goals that left Al-Kholood’s defence with no answers. Julien Domingues added a late penalty for the visitors to complete his own brace, but the night belonged squarely to the Al-Nassr captain.
With this treble, Ronaldo stands just 15 goals away from achieving his ultimate career ambition: an unprecedented 1,000 official goals. Having previously admitted to Rio Ferdinand that reaching the historic four-figure mark free of injuries remains his single greatest priority, the relentless forward is closer than ever to rewriting the history books.
The victory also pulls Al-Nassr level on 28 points at the top tier of the Saudi Pro League table, maintaining fierce pressure in the championship race.
