ValidViewNetwork can report that operatives of the Mowe Division of the Ogun State Police Command on Monday, August 24, 2026, dismantled an alleged illegal baby factory syndicate operating from a hideout in Abaren Village, Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area.

The operation, carried out at about 8:00 a.m. , followed sustained intelligence gathered by the police on alleged human trafficking and illegal adoption activities at the facility located on Toluwalase Street, Abaren Village, via Gbarinmole, a suburb of Mowe.

Victims Rescued

ValidViewNetwork has confirmed that operatives rescued two heavily pregnant women and four children during the raid.

ValidViewNetwork understands that the rescued victims include

  • Ilesanmi Foluke, 23, who is seven months pregnant, and
  • Ejekwa Melody, 20, who is eight months pregnant.
  • Four children — two boys and two girls — were also recovered from the facility.

ValidViewNetwork understands that preliminary investigations revealed that human trafficking and illegal adoption activities had been systematically occurring at the facility over time.

Six Suspects Arrested

ValidViewNetwork has learned that six suspects were arrested in connection with the alleged syndicate.

Magdalene Julius, 63, an attending nurse;

Oseni Kusamotu Idaya, an attending nurse;

Chidike Egwuonwu, 40;

Onyechu Chidike, 35; and Stephen Ogbona, 39.

ValidViewNetwork can confirm that the suspects include three females and three males.

Missing Newborn Sparks Concern ValidViewNetwork has learned that intelligence-led follow-up operations led detectives to a hospital within the Mowe axis, where another alleged victim, Blessing Bright Effiong, 26, had reportedly given birth to a baby boy on August 20, 2026.

ValidViewNetwork understands that while the mother was receiving medical treatment, the whereabouts of her newborn child could not be accounted for. This development prompted the arrest of the attending nurse to assist investigators in locating the missing infant.

Case Transferred to SCID

ValidViewNetwork can confirm that the case is currently being transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further diligent investigation.
