The victims, identified as Jehu, 10, and Yohana, 5, were abducted on May 12, 2026, while on their way to school in the Jerry Sawmill Area of Ore.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, the children’s father, Andrew Yohana, reported the incident to the Police, prompting the Command’s Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad to launch an intensive intelligence-driven operation.
The police investigation led to the arrest of Taofeek Lukman, 23, and Blessing Saturday, 27, in the Alaba Area of Ore.
“During the operation, the sum of N251,000 suspected to be proceeds of ransom collected from the family before the victims’ release was recovered from the suspects,” the police spokesman stated.
Jimoh added that detectives also recovered an unregistered motorcycle allegedly used for the kidnapping operation.
