In a striking display of cross-party unity, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, have joined forces to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid, unveiling 30 campaign vehicles donated by Niger Delta businessman, Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo.

The Tompolo vehicles inauguration took place on Saturday at the Nelson Mandela Freedom Park in Osogbo, where 10,000 grassroots canvassers were also inaugurated under the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, ValidViewNetwork reports .

THE TARGET

The movement set an ambitious target of at least 1.5 million votes for Tinubu in Osun State in the 2027 presidential election.

Adeleke, who was represented by his deputy, Kola Adewusi, urged members of the Accord Party, the Peoples Democratic Party, and his supporters to set aside political differences and work towards Tinubu’s re-election.

“Our unity of purpose and determination to join hands for the re-election of Mr President is manifested today by this assembly of supporters across party lines. We all gathered here solely to promote and market Mr President for continuity,” Adeleke said .

He urged members of the coalition to work towards delivering between 1.5 million and two million votes for Tinubu in the state .

OYETOLA’S APPEAL

Oyetola, who was represented by the APC governorship candidate in the 2026 Osun election, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, said support for Tinubu’s re-election had continued to grow beyond the ruling party.

“I appreciate the fact that the re-election project of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has continued to attract support beyond the traditional boundaries of our great political party, APC. Individuals and political interests are increasing tremendously, recognising the importance of continuity and the need to sustain the reforms and development programme of our president’s administration,” he said .

He expressed confidence that Osun could deliver 1.5 million votes for Tinubu in 2027, provided party members and supporters remained united and committed to the mobilisation exercise.

THE DONATION

Representing Tompolo, the Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, Dr Kestin Pondi, announced the donation of 30 vehicles fitted with public address systems, generators and amplifiers to facilitate grassroots mobilisation across the state.

Pondi explained that the vehicles were intended to strengthen the movement’s operations and enable its members to reach more communities in their campaign for Tinubu’s re-election.

He challenged political leaders and supporters in Osun to work towards delivering at least 90 per cent of the votes cast in the state for Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election .

THE APC’S MESSAGE

The National Secretary of the APC, Senator Ajibola Basiru, listed the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, infrastructure development, increased allocations to state and local governments, and efforts to improve the economy among the achievements of the Tinubu administration.

Basiru urged Osun residents to support the President’s second-term ambition, expressing optimism that the door-to-door mobilisation strategy would strengthen his electoral prospects in the state .

WHY IT MATTERS

The image of Adeleke, a member of the Accord Party, and Oyetola, a chieftain of the APC, standing together for Tinubu is a powerful political statement.

It signals that the 2027 election is not simply a contest between parties. It is a contest between continuity and change, between the incumbent and the opposition.

For Tinubu, the Osun coalition is a model of the cross-party support he hopes to build nationwide.

For Adeleke, it is a calculated political move that aligns him with the federal government while he pursues his own ambitions.

For Oyetola, it is a chance to deliver his state for the President who appointed him minister.
