The Lagos State Police Command has arrested two suspected armed robbers and permanently cordoned off the New Supreme Hotel in Akala, Mushin, identified as a criminal hideout. The suspects, Toheeb Adeboye (21 years) and Ajayi Adeniyi (33 years), were apprehended following a police operation on October 3, 2025, after officers sighted four suspected armed robbers near Empire Junction by Jibowu inward Ikorodu Road. Three suspects fled, while Adeboye was caught with firearms and ammunition concealed in his bag.

Upon interrogation, Adeboye admitted that the gang had recently committed a robbery in Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, and was heading to the New Supreme Hotel, their regular post-operation base. Acting on this intelligence, police raided the hotel, recovering a laptop, charms, substances suspected to be Indian hemp and other hard drugs, as well as arresting Ajayi, who was found with a locally fabricated pistol. The hotel has now been sealed off permanently. Both suspects and recovered exhibits are held at the Command Headquarters, with investigations ongoing to apprehend the remaining gang members.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, commended the operatives and urged hotel operators statewide to maintain strict customer records to prevent exploitation by criminals. He reassured Lagos residents of the police commitment to safeguarding lives and property and called for vigilance and prompt reporting of suspicious activities.
