The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) clarified that the power outage experienced at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos on Thursday was due to a minor wire spark, as revealed in a statement by Obiageli Orah, the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection on Friday.
According to FAAN, the incident occurred around 11:20 am at the E-arrival hall of the MMIA old terminal, resulting in a brief electrical short circuit. However, this disruption did not affect airport operations and was quickly addressed by the engineering team, restoring normalcy within minutes.
FAAN emphasized its unwavering commitment to passenger safety, highlighting its priority in maintaining a secure environment at the airport.
