Soldier goes berserk, kills senior officer and injures other colleagues in Sokoto

Troops of the Joint Task Force North West Operation HADARIN DAJI (OPHD) have gunned down a soldier identified as James Kingsley after he killed one of his senior officers, a Second Lieutenant, OC Ukachukwu in Sokoto State.

A military source who confirmed the tragic incident to the Sahara Reporters said it happened at about 6:05 pm on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at the Forward Operational Base in Magani.

James was said to have gone berserk and opened fire, killing Ukachukwu before he was shot dead by other soldiers.

Some of his colleagues were also injured during the incident.

They are currently in stable condition in the hospital.
