Ibadan – Oyo State. Governor Seyi Makinde has expressed his condolences on the passing of former Oyo State Governor, Dr. Victor Omololu Olunloyo, who he described as a highly intellectual and patriotic leader.

In a statement released on Sunday, Makinde mourned the death of the former governor, commiserating with the Olunloyo family, the people of Ibadanland, and the entire Oyo State. He noted the sadness of Olunloyo’s passing shortly before his 90th birthday.
Makinde acknowledged Olunloyo’s service to Oyo State during its early years, recognizing him as an icon and a cerebral administrator. He mentioned that his government had previously honored Olunloyo by naming the Ibadan Airport Road and the Leisure Park after him, as a recognition of his service to the state.
He concluded by praying for repose for the deceased’s soul and strength for his family to bear the loss.
