A secondary school student in Kumasi, Ghana, was injured after being shot by a classmate on Friday, April 4, 2025. The incident occurred at approximately 9:30 AM during the school’s first break.


According to student reports, Bernard Amoabeng, a student at the unnamed secondary school, produced a firearm from his school bag and initially threatened a female student. He then pointed the weapon at a male student, Samuel Manu.
In an attempt to deflect the weapon, Samuel struck it, causing it to discharge. The bullet struck Suzzy Pinamang, a student in class 2A10, in the face, resulting in severe bleeding.
Suzzy Pinamang was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Bernard Amoabeng has been taken into custody by law enforcement and is currently under investigation.
