
The Katsina State Police Command has disbursed financial compensation amounting to ₦28,012,584.70 to the families of 25 police officers who lost their lives while serving in the line of duty.
The presentation ceremony took place at the Conference Hall of the Command Headquarters in Katsina, led by the State Commissioner of Police, CP Ali Umar Fage. According to the command, the intervention forms part of a broader, sustained welfare initiative championed by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, aimed at honoring personnel who paid the ultimate sacrifice for the country.
Addressing the grieving relatives, CP Fage praised the bravery and dedication of the departed officers, describing them as gallant personnel whose invaluable contributions to national security will never be forgotten. He urged the beneficiaries to deploy the funds wisely to stabilize their immediate financial needs and safeguard their long-term futures.
Reiterating the leadership’s dedication to workforce support, Fage commended the Inspector-General for prioritizing the welfare of both active-duty personnel and the dependents of fallen heroes.
Responding on behalf of the recipients, Alkasim Salisu expressed deep gratitude to the police hierarchy for the gesture, assuring that the funds would be utilized judiciously to support their families.
