“This Politics Is Not a Tea Party” — Fayose Predicts Tinubu Victory Over Atiku, Obi

Fayose Says Election Rigging Is Now Difficult, Backs Tinubu for 2027

Former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose has put a bold figure on his assessment of the 2027 presidential contest.

He says President Bola Tinubu could secure 12 million votes and defeat former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi even if the two opposition figures unite.

ValidViewNetwork reports that Fayose made the comments while discussing the emerging political alignments ahead of the 2027 election.

According to Fayose, an alliance between Atiku and Obi would not automatically translate into an electoral advantage. He said: “Even if they come together, this man (Tinubu) will still defeat them.”

Fayose also projected a margin of at least six million votes for Tinubu in the South-West and said the President could secure more than 12 million votes nationally.

He added:“Politics is not a tea party.” Fayose also argued that election rigging has become considerably more difficult.

His remarks come as opposition politicians continue to discuss possible alliances and as supporters of the President defend the administration’s record.

But Fayose’s figures are political predictions, not established electoral facts.

No responsible news report can present a future vote total as though it already exists.

The eventual result will depend on who contests, how parties organise, voter turnout, campaign issues, the conduct of the electoral process and the decisions Nigerians make at the ballot box.

Fayose’s own political position is also relevant to understanding his comments. He currently chairs the board of the Rural Electrification Agency under the Tinubu administration.

That background does not invalidate his argument, but it is relevant context for readers assessing the political nature of the statement.

ValidViewNetwork reports that Fayose has made his prediction clearly. The prediction remains his political assessment and should not be confused with an independently verified forecast of the 2027 result.

The final word belongs neither to Fayose nor to his opponents. It belongs to the constitutional electoral process and, ultimately, to Nigerian voters.
