Tobi Akinjobi popularly known as (HappyHour), a Nigerian is set for a Guiness Record as the longest marathon in playing piano/ keyboad with a target of 240 hours commencing from 12 noon on December 20, 2023.
Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State, the Gateway State will play host to dignitaries who are set to witness the Ogun-born pianist put the State on the global map as Guiness Record holder for longest marathon.
The current longest marathon playing keyboard / piano by an individual is 130 hours and was achieved by Thurzó Zoltán (Romania) in Oradea, Romania, from 19 to 25 September 2022. Thurzó grew up in a three generation musical family, which is one of the reasons why he was motivated to break this record
Tobi, the first child of his parents was born in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria and he is determined to set a new record. He grew up with his three siblings in a christian family in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria .
He started music at age five as a choir boy at the first church in Nigeria, Cathedral Church of St. Peter, Ake , Abeokuta where he later served as a pianist
Happy Hour started manifesting his musical potentials at the prestigious Abeokuta Grammar School which produced Fela Anikulapo Kuti. While at Abeokuta Grammar School, Tobi shone like a galaxy of stars as the school Pianist.
He is a seasoned and professional pianist with immeasurable contributions to several African and Western music at home and abroad.
In furtherance of his commitment to music, Tobi served meritoriously as the National President of Music Students Association of Nigeria. He is the Director and Founder of Happyhour Music Academy which has continued to produce brilliant musicians with immense contributions to African music at large.
