On Tuesday, the South East Zonal Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) upheld the suspension of Mrs. Ginika Tor by the Enugu State Chapter of the party.
Tor, serving as a Federal Commissioner representing Enugu State at the Federal Character Commission, faced suspension over allegations of gross misconduct, anti-party activities, and purported efforts to establish a parallel party executive within the state.
Following a meeting of the Zonal Executive Committee held in Enugu, the party’s zonal leadership endorsed the decision made by the Enugu State chapter to suspend Tor.
A statement issued by the National Vice Chairman of APC South East, Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu, confirmed the ratification of Tor’s suspension by the zonal executive committee.

The statement highlighted Tor’s alleged engagement in anti-party actions on March 10, 2024, including the dissemination of statements aimed at tarnishing the reputation of the APC leadership in Enugu and the state executive.
Additionally, Tor was accused of establishing a factional or parallel State Executive Committee, which contravenes Section 21:2 of the 2022 Constitution of the All Progressives Congress, as amended.

The resolution affirming Tor’s suspension was communicated to key party figures including Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of APC; Senator Hope Uzodinma, the governor of Imo State and leader of APC South-East; Chief Emma Eneukwu, APC Deputy National Chairman, South; and Chief Uche Nnaji, Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology.
