Billionaire businessman Razaq Okoya’s wife, Shade Okoya, has broken her silence after her 66-year-old stepson, Fatai Okoya, accused her of preventing him from seeing his father — but not in the way anyone expected.
The response came not as a denial, a statement, or a rebuttal, but as a job posting .
THE ALLEGATION
Fatai, the first son of the billionaire industrialist, has been a subject of discussion online since October 18, 2026, when he publicly appealed to his father, Chief Razaq Akanni Okoya, for forgiveness and an opportunity to rebuild their relationship after about 40 years of estrangement .
During a viral interview with Yeye Kudi, Fatai explained that one of the major reasons for the rift was his decision to marry a woman his father reportedly disapproved of.
He also dismissed rumours that he had stolen a large sum of money, insisting that the incident was not the sole reason his father had yet to forgive him .
Fatai further revealed that he had repeatedly tried to contact his father, sometimes through friends, but had struggled to gain access to him.
Recounting his experience at his father’s 86th birthday celebration on January 12, 2026, Fatai said he received a VIP welcome but was allegedly prevented from approaching his father by Shade Okoya.
“I was turned back by Alhaja Shade Okoya,” he said, explaining that he only wanted to greet his father.
He added that his father saw him at the event but did not speak to him. “My father did not have anything to say,” Fatai added .
THE RESPONSE
Amid the controversy, Shade Okoya took to the Instagram Stories section of her official page on October 19, 2026, to share a post about job opportunities at Eleganza Group, where she serves as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer .
In the post, Shade showed that she was unperturbed by the development as she announced that the company was seeking to recruit 36 sales representatives, with openings covering all 36 states of Nigeria.
She added that attractive salaries and commissions await successful candidates who are hired into the company .
Her post came as the family dispute continued to generate reactions online, following Fatai’s emotional appeal for reconciliation with his father.
WHY IT MATTERS
Shade Okoya’s response or lack thereof, is itself a statement.
She did not deny Fatai’s allegation. She did not confirm it. She did not address it at all.
Instead, she posted about jobs.
For some, this will be read as a signal that she considers the allegations beneath her attention. For others, it will be read as a refusal to engage with a serious family grievance.

Either way, the silence is deafening. Fatai has publicly asked his father for forgiveness. He has alleged that Shade blocked him from seeing his father.
And Shade has responded by advertising sales representative positions.
The Okoya family feud is not going away. But for now, Shade has chosen to focus on business.
ValidViewNetwork reports that Chief Razaq Okoya has not publicly responded to his son’s appeal. The family dispute continues.
