Nigeria’s U-20 women’s national team, the Falconets, finally departed Abuja for Poland following weeks of intensive tactical drilling, though their departure was preceded by administrative bottlenecks. Head coach Moses Aduku leads a 21-player squad into the global showpiece, which runs from September 5 to September 27.
However, preparations have been clouded by concerns surrounding team captain and Nasarawa Amazons midfielder Joy Igbokwe. Reports indicate that Igbokwe missed the initial flight due to delayed visa approval, leaving her immediate participation in serious doubt while stakeholders race against time to resolve the diplomatic paperwork.
Group Stage Fixtures

Historic Pedigree
The Falconets hold the unrivaled distinction of being the only African nation to have participated in every single edition of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup since its inception. Having finished as proud tournament runners-up in 2010 and 2014, the team is determined to cross the final hurdle this term.
Upon touching down in Europe, the squad is scheduled to pitch camp at the Hotel Trzebnica to fine-tune their strategy and adjust to local conditions before moving into official tournament quarters.
