
ACCRA, Ghana — The Ghanaian entertainment industry has been thrown into deep mourning following the sudden passing of beloved veteran actress and media personality, Beverly Afaglo. She was 43.
Her husband, Eugene Kwadwo Baah—popularly known as Choirmaster of the legendary Hiplife group Praye—confirmed the heartbreaking news in a poignant social media post on Sunday evening, May 24, 2026.
While an official cause of death has not yet been publicly disclosed, fellow Praye group member, Praye Tietia, revealed in an interview that the actress had been battling an illness for several weeks. The family had remained hopeful for her recovery before her untimely demise.

In a raw and devastating tribute, Choirmaster expressed the profound grief of losing his wife just four days shy of her 44th birthday.
“My heart is shattered beyond words over the death of my beloved wife Beverly Afaglo,” he wrote. “It would have been just like four more days to your birthday, but I guess the Lord wanted to celebrate with you, so He called you.”
He went on to describe the late actress as the cornerstone of his life, promising to honor her legacy and raise their children according to the plans they built together.
“You were my strength, my happiness, and the reason my life felt complete,” he shared. “I am hearing your voice right now, cheering me up as always, my number one fan. I promise to take care and continue everything we planned and started. Until my last breath, you will remain in my heart forever. Sleep well, my baby.”

Born on May 28, 1983, Beverly Afaglo was a powerhouse in the golden era of modern Ghanaian cinema. With a career spanning over two decades, she established herself as a versatile talent capable of commanding both intense dramas and sharp comedies.
