Anambra’s ‘Solution’ Governor Sworn In for Second Term Amid Pledges of Economic Renaissance

​AWKA, ANAMBRA STATE – In a ceremony defined by a blend of solemnity and grand optimism, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo was yesterday, March 17, 2026, sworn in for his second term as the Executive Governor of Anambra State.

​The inauguration, held at the International Convention Centre in Awka, drew a distinguished audience of political leaders, traditional rulers, and captains of industry. Representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima lauded Soludo as a “restless thinker” and a “public intellectual of uncommon range,” emphasizing that the Governor’s re-election was a testament to his visionary leadership and fiscal discipline.

​Taking the oath of office administered by the State Chief Judge, Soludo, alongside his Deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, reaffirmed his commitment to transforming Anambra into a “liveable and prosperous megacity.” In an expansive inaugural address titled “The Consolidation of the Solution,” the former Central Bank Governor detailed a roadmap for the next four years centered on aggressive capital expenditure and technological advancement.

​”Today is not just a celebration of a victory at the polls, but a renewal of our social contract with the people of Anambra,” Soludo declared. “In our first term, we laid the foundation. In this second chapter, we build the skyscraper. Our focus remains the 2026 budget’s mandate of 79% capital expenditure, ensuring that every kobo of our commonwealth is visible in the roads we pave, the hospitals we equip, and the digital economy we are birthed.”

​The Governor highlighted key priorities for his second tenure, including the completion of the “Solution Fun City,” the deepening of the urban regeneration projects in Onitsha and Okpoko, and a robust “One-Youth-Two-Skills” program aimed at eradicating unemployment. He also extended an olive branch to his political opponents, urging them to prioritize the “Light of the Nation” over partisan interests.

​As Awka remains in a celebratory mood, the “Soludo 2.0” administration begins with high expectations.
