The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Thursday, presented Certificate of Return to Governor Dapo Abiodun as the Governor-Elect of Ogun State.
His Deputy Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, and 25 members of the State House of Assembly-Elect also received their certificates of return.
The National Commissioner, INEC for Ogun, Osun and Ondo, Prof. Adekunle Ajayi presented the certificates of return to the Governor-elect and his deputy at a brief ceremony at the headquarters of the Commission in Magbon, Abeokuta.
The brief ceremony was attended by the spouses of the governor and deputy governor, stalwarts of All Progressive Congress and their supporters.
Speaking after receiving his certificate of return, Governor Abiodun praised President Muhammadu Buhari for ensuring a free, fair and transparent election.
“I want to appreciate our president, President Muhammadu Buhari for being so deliberate and determine ensure that he provides an atmosphere for free and free election.”
“This is also a call of renew hope not just for Ogun people but the entire Nigeria nation, on behalf of all of us, I promise that we will continue with our people oriented policies and programme so that we can ensure that life continue to be more abundant and meaningful to all the people of Ogun State.”
The governor also urged the opposition to join his administration to build a better and progressive Ogun State.
“Again I call on all of you, those that are here and those that are not here to join hands with us in continue unrelentless determination to build our future together”
Meanwhile, addressing scores of party supporters at the A-P-C secretariat, iyana mortuary, Abeokuta, Governor Abiodun said he would focus on public utilities such as water and electricity supply, Kajola dry port, security etc.
The governor also seek for more collaboration of everyone in the development of the state.
