
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has revealed the list of finalists for the CAF Awards 2025, scheduled for November 19 in Rabat, Morocco. This prestigious event honors Africa’s finest in football, recognizing outstanding contributions from players, coaches, clubs, and national teams based on their performances from January 6 to October 15, 2025.
Leading the Player of the Year category are three of Africa’s most outstanding talents: Mohamed Salah (Egypt and Liverpool), Achraf Hakimi (Morocco/Paris Saint-Germain), and Victor Osimhen (Nigeria/Galatasaray). Their exceptional play on the international stage highlights the continent’s continuing rise in global football.
The Goalkeeper of the Year shortlist features an all-Moroccan and South African lineup, with Munir Mohamedi (Morocco/RS Berkane), Yassine Bonou (Morocco/Al Hilal), and Ronwen Williams (South Africa/Mamelodi Sundowns) recognized for their outstanding defensive capabilities.
In the Interclub Player of the Year category, the nominees are Fiston Mayele from DR Congo (Pyramids FC), Mohamed Chibi (Morocco/Pyramids), and Oussama Lamlioui (Morocco/RS Berkane), underscoring their impact in African club competitions.
For Coach of the Year, the finalists are Bubista (Cape Verde), Mohamed Ouahbi (Morocco U-20), and Walid Regragui (Morocco), all celebrated for their leadership and success on the continental football stage.
Young talent is spotlighted in the Young Player of the Year category with Abdellah Ouazane (Morocco/Ajax), Othmane Maamma (Morocco/Watford), and Tylon Smith (South Africa/Queens Park Rangers) nominated as promising stars.
The National Team of the Year category includes Cape Verde, Morocco, and Morocco U-20, while the Club of the Year honors recognize Pyramids (Egypt), RS Berkane (Morocco), and Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa) for their dominant performances in African football leagues.
The ceremony, beginning at 19:00 local time, will celebrate the achievements shaping African football’s growth and influence worldwide. Coverage of women’s football categories and coaches will be announced following the conclusion of the CAF Women’s Champions League in Egypt.
