
The Ogun State sector command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) is mourning the loss of its Public Education Officer, Chief Route Commander Florence Okpe, who passed away on Tuesday following a lengthy illness.
Florence Okpe had been a dedicated and respected officer whose unwavering commitment to public safety and road education made significant contributions to the Corps’ mission. She had been receiving medical treatment in Ogun State before traveling to her hometown in Cross River State for further care, where she eventually died.
Confirming her passing, Ogun FRSC Sector Commander, Akinwunmi Fasakin, described Okpe as “an enigma, a very sound, resourceful, and professional officer of unparalleled dedication to duty.” Fasakin expressed deep sorrow at the loss, underscoring her importance not only to the Corps but also personally to him.
The command offered condolences to Okpe’s family and friends, pledging prayers for strength to bear the profound loss. Her death marks a significant void in the Ogun FRSC community, where she was known for her professionalism and passion for road safety advocacy.
Florence Okpe’s legacy lives on in the numerous safety campaigns and public enlightenment initiatives she championed in Ogun State, underscoring the vital role of the FRSC in safeguarding lives on Nigeria’s roads.
