The Nigerian Police Force have apprehended Kingsley Nebo, the proprietor of the Enugu-based real estate firm Dandatec Real Estate, for orchestrating the murder of 25-year-old Sochima Onoh in Enugu on July 12, 2025. Nebo reportedly paid N1 million to hired killers to execute his plan, which investigators say was designed to provoke communal clashes. The objective was to create confusion that would enable Nebo to seize lands using the Enugu State Geographical Information System (ENGIS), a tactic he allegedly employed in other communities under the guise of ethnic conflict.
In a video confession, Nebo boasted of having influence over the Enugu State Police, claiming the entire police force was under his control. However, a special squad dispatched by the Deputy Inspector General of Police in Abuja successfully apprehended him, along with five of his accomplices. Several others linked to the murder remain at large as investigations intensify.
Sources reveal that the killing of Sochima Onoh has sent shockwaves through the community, with calls for calm while justice is pursued. The young man’s family has solemnly declared that his body will not be buried until those responsible are held accountable in a court of law, underlining the demand for justice and peace.
Authorities are continuing their probe into the roles of all involved as Enugu State seeks to quell tensions and restore order following the violent incident tied to ongoing land disputes in the area. Meanwhile, ENGIS officials have denied any wrongdoing concerning land allocation, stating their operations are within the law, despite the allegations connected to the conflict.
This high-profile arrest marks a significant step towards addressing land-related violence in Enugu, exposing sinister plots to manipulate communal strife for personal gain. The federal police have reassured the public of their commitment to thoroughly investigate and prosecute those involved in this tragic incident.
The Enugu community and the nation await further updates as the investigation progresses and justice for Sochima Onoh remains a priority.
