Governor Uba Sani has officially launched the Kaduna Bus Rapid Transit (KBRT) system, a groundbreaking initiative that introduces a 24-kilometer transit corridor from Kawo to Sabon Tasha in Kaduna State. This project marks the first Bus Rapid Transit system in Northern Nigeria and the second in the country, representing a significant advancement in public transportation.

In addition to the KBRT, Governor Sani performed the groundbreaking for the Southern Terminal, an ultra-modern central motor park that will serve as a critical hub for transportation on the southern axis of Kaduna State.
“The KBRT and Southern Terminal are more than just infrastructure projects; they symbolize our vision for a better Kaduna,” stated Governor Sani during the launch.
The KBRT is designed to alleviate congestion, improve urban mobility, and enhance the overall quality of life for residents. It will feature dedicated lanes, strategically placed bus stations, and modern shelters to provide safer and more reliable transportation options. The project is expected to stimulate economic growth and create job opportunities in the region.
Funding for the KBRT has been robust, with significant allocations made in recent budgets, including N30 billion earmarked for 2025. The project is being implemented in partnership with the French Development Agency (AFD), which plays a vital role in supporting sustainable development initiatives.
As construction progresses, residents can anticipate visible improvements in urban transportation and an overall enhancement of mobility throughout Kaduna State.
