The Ogun Area II Controller of the Nigeria Customs Service, Bisi Alade, has reached out to traditional rulers in the state to seek their assistance in combating smuggling activities and economic sabotage.
Alade emphasized the importance of collaboration between the Nigeria Customs and other security agencies, particularly the Nigeria Police, in tackling criminal activities.
During separate visits to the Alake and Paramount ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, and the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu, Alade stressed the need to strengthen the security architecture of the country through sustained collaborative efforts.
Alade acknowledged the significant role of traditional rulers in maintaining peace and security within their communities.

He highlighted the importance of their support in the Nigeria Customs’ commitment to upholding the law and carrying out its duties effectively.
In response, Oba Gbadebo expressed readiness to support government agencies empowered to enhance socio-economic development.
He affirmed that traditional rulers across the state would continue to collaborate with relevant authorities for the betterment of the nation.
Commissioner Alamutu reaffirmed the commitment of the police command to work closely with the Nigeria Customs to combat illegal activities in the state.
He assured the new Customs boss of the established cooperation between the two security agencies in addressing various forms of criminality.
