The 2023 gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Hon. (Dr) Oladipupo Adebutu, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of his beloved mother-in-law, Alhaja Mujidat Abeke Ogunnaike (popularly known as Oluaye), describing her as a great woman, good mother, political powerhouse and a pillar of strength to many in Ogun State.

In a statement released by his media aide, Afolabi Orekoya, today, Adebutu said the loss of Alhaja Ogunnaike, mother of his wife, Chief (Mrs) Adenike Adebutu is both personal and profound. He offered heartfelt prayers and comfort to his wife, Yeye Adenike Adebutu and the entire Ogunnaike family during this difficult time, noting the late matriarch’s pivotal role as a source of unity, guidance, and love.

Adebutu described her as a woman of substance and vision who contributed immensely to political development and grassroots empowerment, especially among women and the underprivileged. He praised her relentless dedication to service, recounting how her home was always open to all (party faithful, community members, and the less-privileged alike)

He further prayed for her peaceful repose and urged all who were touched by her life to honour her memory by upholding the values she stood for —integrity, love, and service to others.

May her soul rest in perfect peace.
